Radek Vitek enjoyed a quiet afternoon as Accrington Stanley signed off in style with an impressive 4-1 win at home to Tranmere.

The result means that The ‘Owd Reds finish the League Two season in 17th place.

The home side dominated the match with 20 shots to 10 and were just shaded in terms of possession with 49%.

The afternoon got off to the worst possible start when Tranmere striker, Luke Norris, opened the scoring past Manchester United loanee Vitek after only two minutes.

However, the side from the Wham Stadium responded wonderfully by equalising just two minutes later.

Three second half goals consolidated the win for Vitek’s side and put an end to three consecutive league defeats.

The Czech shot-stopper enjoyed a relatively quiet afternoon after conceding early on in the match. He was awarded a score of 6.7 on Sofascore, as he did not have much opportunity to impress.

He was only required to make one save in the entire game as a poor Tranmere only managed two efforts on target in the 90 minutes.

The giant keeper was also strong in the air when he needed to be as he punched away the ball once and made two high claims.

As his side controlled the game, the keeper was better on the ball than he has been of late.

Vitek had 40 touches and made 21 out of his 30 passes for a 70% pass accuracy.

The youngster was only able to connect with five of his 14 long ball attempts, however.

The tranquility of the youngster’s afternoon was characterised by the fact he only had to make one clearance all match.

The emphatic win brought the curtain down on Accrington’s campaign, who will be pleased with Vitek’s contribution since he joined in the winter market.

The Czech keeper will no doubt head back to Manchester for a well-deserved rest and then join up with United’s pre-season squad where he will be assessed but surely sent out on loan once more, as it is unlikely he will have much game time at Old Trafford next season.

In a rare instance of a United youngster gaining regular gametime in a somewhat stable team, sending him back to Accrington next season may not be the worst idea in the world.

Manchester United’s on-loan goalkeeper Radek Vitak was in goal as his side, Accrington Stanley, suffered their third consecutive loss – this time at the hands of Stockport.

Accrington headed into the game at Edgeley Park off the back of defeats against Doncaster Rovers and Mansfield respectively.

They would have undoubtedly been hoping to put their misery behind them and get back to winning ways but it wasn’t to be as Stockport handed them a 4-2 beating.

A brace from Kyle Wootton and goals from Connor Lemonheigh-Evans and Antoni Sarcevic were enough to ensure strikes from Accrington duo Shuan Whalley and Jack Nolan didn’t count for too much at the end of proceedings.

Between the sticks, Vitek faced a total of 17 shots, with seven of these requiring him to swing into action and intervene. Stockport also had the lion’s share of possession – 62%.

Vitek’s game vs. Stockport was his 17th start for Accrington in as many games since he joined the club from United on loan.

The Czech Republic international made three saves – all from inside his own box – that prevented Stockport from clinching even more goals and completely blowing Accrington away.

The shot-stopper also registered one crucial punch during the time he was on the pitch.

He had 37 total touches of the ball to his name.

Vitek tried to deliver 24 passes to his teammates. He successfully delivered 16 of these, managing a pass completion rate of 67%.

The 20-year-old went long 10 times. He found his intended target just twice. Vitek also made one clearance.

He delved into one aerial duel. In this single aerial contest, Vitek came out on top and outdid his opponent.

(Stats obtained from Sofascore)

The next assignment for John Doolan’s men is a home clash against Tranmere in a week’s time.

Manchester United’s on-loan goalkeeper Radek Vitek gave a good account of himself despite his side, Accrington Stanley, suffering a 2-1 loss at the hands of League Two rivals Mansfield.

Mansfield had a comfortable lead for large parts of the game after goals from George Maris and Stephen Quinn in the second and 63rd minutes respectively.

Accrington gave their rivals a scare when they halved the deficit with five minutes of normal time left on the clock. However, Nigel Clough’s side held on to clinch all three points to cement their place in second place in the league standings.

Meanwhile, the result left Accrington in 18th position, level on points with Tranmere who are above them on goal difference, and just a point above Swindon.

Against Mansfield, Vitek faced a total of 14 shots, with five of these requiring him to swing into immediate action.

While between the sticks, the Czech international made an amazing three saves from the five shots he was required to keep from flying into the back of his net. Two of the shot-stopper’s saves came from inside the box.

Vitek was required to rush out of his line on one occasion to initiate sweeping action. His run out of his area was successful.

He had a total of 56 touches of the ball to his name.

The 20-year-old managed to complete 19 of his 49 pass attempts to connect with his Accrington teammates. He also launched 37 long passes, successfully reaching his target on just seven occasions.

Vitek executed one clearance and emerged victorious from the one ground duel he delved into.

He also drew in one foul.

(Stats obtained from Sofascore)

Accrington’s next assignment is a trip to Stockport. The match is set to be Vitek’s 17th League Two appearance for John Doolan’s side.

Manchester United’s on-loan goalkeeper Radek Vitek endured a game to forget as he and Accrington Stanley suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss at the hands of Doncaster.

Accrington Stanley made their way to the Eco-Power Stadium keen on building on their previous 3-1 win against Newport County but unfortunately, things didn’t go according to plan for John Doolan’s men.

Goals from Doncaster’s Hakeeb Adelakun, Joe Ironside, James Maxwell and Owen Bailey ultimately sunk Accrington.

Accrington found chances hard to come by, with only Alex Henderson managing to challenge Rovers’ keeper Thimothee Lo-Tutala in the opening 45 minutes.

This trend carried on into the second half as Doncaster extended their dominance over proceedings.

The result has left Vitek’s side in 18th position in the League Two standings with 54 points amassed after 43 matches played.

While between the sticks for the 90 minutes of action, Vitek registered four saves, all of which came from inside the box.

The 20-year-old made one crucial punch to keep Doncaster from adding to their goal tally.

Vitek was not required to make a high claim or dash out of his line to initiate sweeping action.

The Czech Republic international registered a total of 49 passes. He attempted 37 passes and found his teammates with 20 of them, managing a personal pass completion rate of 54%.

The shot-stopper went long 21 times – evidence of just how much pressure they faced from Doncaster who were relentless in their approach.

Out of the 21 long balls he pinged, Vitek found an Accrington teammate on just four occasions.

The United loanee also made one clearance.

(Stats obtained from Sofascore)

There will be no time for Vitek and Accrington to lick their wounds and feel sad for themselves. They return to action on Tuesday when they travel to face third-placed Mansfield. It promises to be yet another hard task for the club.

Radek Vitek and Accrington Stanley came away from Rodney Parade with a 1-3 away win against Newport County yesterday.

His United teammates had already travelled to Newport at the end of January in a 2-4 win in the FA Cup fourth round.

Accrington had slightly less of the ball with 46% but dominated the chances, creating 18 to Newport’s eight.

The Welsh side only managed two shots on target, so it was a relatively quiet night for the United loanee.

The evening got off to a terrible start for Vitek however, as after only 13 minutes of play, Bryn Morris fired an unstoppable drive into the top left hand corner of the net, giving the 20 year old no chance.

From then on in, it was largely one-way traffic as Accrington answered with three goals to consolidate the points.

The Czech keeper put in a wonderful performance at the weekend, keeping the clean sheet and he followed up the showing with a solid, quiet night in Wales.

He was given a score of 6.5 from Sofascore, but this was largely down to the fact he wasn’t required to make any huge interventions for his team.

The giant keeper was called into action to make two routine saves and was able to alleviate pressure from his team by taking one high claim.

His passing accuracy was nothing to write home about as he only made 11 out of his 26 passes and connected with seven of his 22 long balls.

However, League Two is hardly famous for keeping the ball on the grass and putting together a string of twenty or thirty passes. Were the keeper playing at a higher level or in fact a more dominant team, you could expect these figures to rise sharply.

The win takes the Reds to 54 points and 17th place in the League Two table.

The result means that Vitek’s side are now 11 points above the drop zone and with four games remaining, only need a further two points to secure their safety in the football league.

They will try to earn these vital points away to Doncaster Rovers this coming Saturday.

Manchester United’s on-loan goalkeeper Radek Vitek put in a solid performance between the sticks as he helped his side Accrington Stanley get a share of the points against Crewe.

It was a valuable point for Accrington vs. sixth-placed Crewe.

Vitek made two saves that kept the opposition from breaching his goal. He also registered as many punches.

The United loanee was not required to make any runs out of his line in an apparent effort to sweep the ball from a rival player.

During his time in the United youth set-up and so far at Accrington, Vitek has shown glimpses of the goalkeeper he can develop into – a modern shot-stopper who participates in play and often provides the option of a spare man to help in building up play. This was evident once again in his display against Crewe.

The Czech Republic international had 46 touches of the ball to his name in what was an all-action and involved performance from him.

He tried to find his teammates with 24 passes. 15 of these were successful, managing a pass accuracy of 63%.

Vitek attempted to ping 12 long balls. He found his intended target on only three occasions – this is an aspect of his game he will undoubtedly be keen to improve on if he is to realise his potential and become a renowned sweeper goalkeeper. Distribution of the ball is key in this regard.

The 20-year-old also made three clearances.

(Stats obtained from Sofascore)

The overwhelming positive in the eyes of United and the fans is that Vitek’s loan spell at Wham Stadium seems to be doing him a world of good.

He’s gaining valuable first-team experience as a starting goalkeeper for a decent side.

Vitek’s appearance against Crewe was his 13th of the season since joining the League Two outfit in January. He has started 100% of Accrington’s games during this period.

Up next for John Doolan and his players is a trip to Rodney Parade to face Newport County.

Manchester United on-loan goalkeeper Radek Vitek made an impressive five saves as his side, Accrington Stanley, secured a valuable point against Notts County.

Jim O’Brien gave Notts County the lead just four minutes into the game but Accrington restored parity 13 minutes later via Shaun Whalley.

Alassana Jatta restored the visitors’ advantage before the two teams headed down the tunnel as he beat Vitek.

Notts County looked set to run out winners at Wham Stadium but Accrington won a penalty with 10 minutes of normal time left on the clock.

Jack Nolan made no mistake from the spot to ensure the spoils were shared between the two League Two outfits.

Beyond his crucial five saves which helped prevent Notts County from adding to their goal tally, Vitek made three high claims.

Only one of the shot-stopper’s saves was from inside his own box.

Vitek registered 40 touches of the ball.

He attempted to deliver 25 passes and found his teammates with 15 of them.

The Czech Republic international tried to ping 11 long balls. Only one of his efforts found its intended target. This is something he will undoubtedly be keen to improve on ahead of Accrington’s next fixture in a week’s time.

Vitek won the one aerial duel he was required to contest.

(Stats obtained from Sofascore)

The 20-year-old did not make a punch. For Vitek and Accrington, the most important thing is that they’ve picked up points in their last two matches against Swindon and Notts County.

The club seems to be finally putting the losing run they were on behind them. Up next for Accrington is a trip away to Sutton.

The post Radek Vitek wants to play regularly, open to another loan exit in the summer appeared first on Man United News And Transfer News | The Peoples Person.

]]>

Manchester United’s goalkeeping department underwent a massive change last summer and more reshuffling is expected moving forward.

David de Gea, a bonafide club legend, was allowed to leave, thus bringing to an end a 12-year stay at the club after numerous high-profile errors in Erik ten Hag’s debut season.

Andre Onana, who had worked with the Dutch manager before during their stint in Ajax, was brought in from Inter Milan while Altay Bayindir came in as reserve keeper.

Academy graduates like Dean Henderson and Matej Kovar both departed the club while Tom Heaton is also desperate to leave and play a few games having been forced to stay on by the manager last summer.

GK revolution

The Turk has only made one appearance this term and he is said to be unhappy with the treatment meted out to him and is considering a summer exit.

Another academy graduate, Radek Vitek, currently shining out on loan at Accrington Stanley in League Two, has now spoken out about his long-term future at the Red Devils.

He has impressed since his loan move in January, keeping three clean sheets in 10 games so far.

The young shot-stopper, in an interview with Czech outlet SPORT, revealed how Onana has helped him with his passing game and mentioned De Gea as in inspiration when he first landed in Manchester.

“Everyone tried to help me, I learned from everyone. David was a great person, easy going, he always had fun with me. It was great when Martin Dúbravka was on loan at United last year, I could talk to someone in my mother tongue.

Another academy shining star

“Onana is excellent in footwork. He always told me not to be afraid to play, even if I make a mistake sometimes. He encouraged me to be self-confident, not to make a big deal out of anything and to move on. Everyone makes mistakes, even the best in the world.”

If the Turkish international and Heaton both depart and United do not strengthen further, a place could open for the Czechia U20 international.

However, waiting for a first team spot to open up could take some time considering Onana’s strong current form and the fact that the management will likely strengthen should one or more keepers depart.

And considering Vitek is playing in League Two currently, there is a good chance that the player might not immediately be ready for the massive step-up.

And the 20-year-old is desperate to play, now that he has experienced professional football, and is even open to another loan exit next summer.

Vitek’s goals

The player seems to have a matured mindset as he claimed that while his dream is to don the No 1 jersey at the 20-time English league champions, he is open to an exit to play more regularly like his compatriot Kovar.

“We’ll see what the possibilities are after this season. I don’t deal with that now and I don’t even want to say what I would or wouldn’t want. And I am open to everything and let things take their course.

“I do not hide that I would like to move again in the summer, we will solve the whole situation with United and my agency Sport Invest. Whether it’s to the third or second English league, or somewhere abroad. I want to settle in men’s football.

“Of course (would love to play for the first team). For whom wouldn’t that be motivation? That’s the ideal scenario, but I just want to do my best. Then we’ll see, there are a lot of great clubs in Europe.”

Manchester United’s young keeper Radek Vitek put in a fantastic display as Accrington Stanley came away from Swindon with all three points in the bag yesterday.

After a magnificent start where he kept three clean sheets in his first four matches, the last few games have been a bit of a lesson about life in the professional leagues for the 20 year old.

Heavy defeats to Bradford and Wrexham are evidence of that, where he conceded a total of seven goals.

However, the young Czech keeper bounced back with a fine display to help his side claim a first win in a month.

Accrington only had 41% of the ball but only had one shot less than the hosts in an even match.

The Youth Cup winning keeper’s best intervention was an outstanding athletic save that saw him make a stunning one handed stop, parrying the ball to safety.

Unfortunately, shortly after, a mix-up in the ‘Owd Reds defence from a corner allowed Swindon Town’s Aaron Drinan to smash home from close range, giving the United keeper no time to react at all.

However, the side from the Crown Ground reacted well as they won and scored a penalty and a late Alex Henderson rocket sealed the points for the away side.

Sofascore were certainly impressed by Vitek as they gave him a score of 7.6.

The giant keeper made four saves, two of which came from shots inside the penalty area.

He was also able to make four high claims and three clearances as he protected his goalmouth with maturity and in a manner well beyond his young years.

The keeper also completed 100% of his run outs where he had to come racing off his goal to clear the ball to safety. The signing of Andre Onana and likely direction INEOS will take the football at the club is with a modern sweeper keeper type, so if Vitek is to make it at United, he will need to perfect this aspect of his game.

In an overall impressive display from the academy player, the only drawback of the evening was his work on the ball. He only had a 38% pass accuracy and only connected with four out of his 24 long ball attempts.

However, in a night where all that mattered for Accrington was the three points, the long ball was an effective tactic.

Stanley have moved up to 15th in the table and now have collected 49 points for the season. They still sit 11 points from the last playoff spot with nine games left to play.

Next up for Vitek and his loan side is a home tie against Notts County where they will aim to extend their winning streak and push themselves towards the top half of the table.

Manchester United loanee Radek Vitek and his Accrington Stanley teammates’ woes continued as they were beaten by three goals to nothing by Bradford at home.

A Tyreik Wright brace and Andy Cook goal within the opening 45 minutes of the game were enough to seal Accrington Stanley’s fate and pile further misery onto them.

Accrington are currently on a run of four consecutive losses.

The League Two outfit are winless in their last five matches, with their last victory coming against Wimbledon on 13th February.

Against Bradford, Vitek did well and continued to show some very positive signs.

He was arguably his side’s best performer and were it not for him, Accrington could have possibly conceded more.

The United loanee made two saves, both of which were from inside the box and also registered one punch.

He made one high claim.

Vitek had 48 touches of the ball and was very involved in the proceedings.

The shot-stopper tried to deliver 34 passes to his teammates. He was successful with 22 passes and managed a pass completion rate of 65%.

The Czech Republic international attempted to ping 20 long balls. Eight of these found their intended target.

The 20-year-old made an impressive three clearances. He was required to contest one aerial duel. He came out on top on this one occasion.

(Stats obtained from Sofascore)

Despite Accrington being woeful and in extremely poor form in terms of performances and results, Vitek is still managing to somewhat distinguish himself.

Vitek and Accrington return to action on Tuesday when they travel to The County Ground to take on Swindon Town.
