\nManchester United Women manager Marc Skinner has expressed his joy and delight at Ella Toone’s fantastic winner for the club against Leicester City on Sunday.<\/p>\n

United managed to beat Leicester<\/a> 1-0 at the King Power Stadium and the goal was a thing of beauty.<\/p>\n

Substitute Toone produced a moment of magic in the 83rd minute of proceedings when she picked up the ball from distance and unleashed a thunderbolt into the top-right corner of Janina Leitzig’s net.<\/p>\n

United dominated the match but were thwarted by some heroics from the Foxes shot-stopper, who was in fine form between the sticks. It seemed like the game needed something special to be unlocked and Toone provided just that.<\/p>\n

Skinner spoke to club media<\/a> after the final whistle and gave his verdict on the match, including Toone’s screamer.<\/p>\n

The United manager said, “It was a pretty dominant performance. We should have been more ruthless in the final third while attacking. We defended well at times. Yeah, it was a professional performance but we created too many chances to still be 0-0 at that stage.”<\/p>\n

“And obviously a goal worthy of winning any game when Toone came on. It was a magnificent strike. I’m happy for her because she’s been practising those distances for a while and to get that to come off and win the game is just fitting for what she’s been practising, so overall three points and that’s what’s most important.”<\/p>\n

When asked about his substitutes and the impact they made against Leicester, Skinner replied, “It’s huge for any team [subs to come on and make a difference] No game is 11 players any more.”<\/p>\n

“It has to be a whole squad and today we selected certain players for certain aspects and we brought other players in for the same reason.”<\/p>\n

“I think what we got from that was a good performance. I was really pleased with it, especially in the first half we dominated the possession but we created moments where we’ve got to make the keeper work more.”<\/p>\n

He added, “Knowing that you have the quality [from the bench] coming into the game is really important, but yeah from our perspective it’s just continuing. We’ve got three finals left. Not one is any more important than the other.”<\/p>\n

Skinner finished off by praising the fans who made their way to the King Power Stadium and were relentless in their support for the team.<\/p>\n

United return to action next Sunday when they travel to Merseyside to face Liverpool, who are just behind them in the WSL standings.<\/p>\n
