Manchester United’s Brandon Williams has been banned from driving after accumulating 30 points on his licence.<\/p>\n

The fullback has been on loan at promotion-chasing Ipswich Town this season but he has not played since December.<\/p>\n

It was reported<\/a> earlier in the season that he had picked up an injury and had been sent back to Carrington to recover from the setback.<\/p>\n

The beginning of February saw reports that he would be returning<\/a> to East Anglia shortly but this never came to pass.<\/p>\n

It has been a disappointing season for the 23-year-old as he has only played a meagre 17 games<\/a> for the Tractor Boys.<\/p>\n

Things turned even sourer for him when he was accused of dangerous driving<\/a> just before Easter.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors alleged that the 23-year-old was driving his Audi A3 S Line car at speeds over 90mph on the A34, before being involved in an accident at a speed of 74mph.<\/p>\n

The United man was given a lifeline by his coach, Kieran McKenna<\/a> shortly after when he claimed that the player could still play a role in Ipswich’s crucial run-in but once more, this has failed to occur.<\/p>\n

Williams’ future is even murkier now that he has been found guilty of the charges against him.<\/p>\n

The Mirror<\/a> report that “Manchester United defender Brandon Williams has been banned from driving after accumulating 30 points on his licence.”<\/p>\n

Williams “failed to provide officers with information regarding who was driving his top-of-the-range Mercedes on two separate occasions, a court hearing heard.”<\/p>\n

“He failed to turn up for a hearing at Manchester Magistrates Court on Friday morning and was sentenced in absence.<\/p>\n

“The court heard that Williams had already racked up 18 points on his licence and he was fined \u00a31,000 with a \u00a3400 court surcharge and costs of \u00a385.<\/p>\n

“Williams was handed a disqualification last year which was subsequently lifted, with these two further charges taking him to 30 points.”<\/p>\n

With persistent problems off the field and recurring injury issues, a once-promising career seems to be fizzling out as fast as it took off when he made his debut for the Mancunian side back in 2019.<\/p>\n
