In recent years Eredivisie has emerged as a hotspot for European giants to find their next tactical mastermind.<\/p>\n

Manchester United roped in Erik ten Hag after seeing his exploits at Ajax, while Liverpool are now replacing Jurgen Klopp with Feyenoord boss Arne Slot.<\/p>\n

Last season, Ruud van Nistelrooy also made headlines by turning PSV Eindhoven into a winning machine.<\/p>\n

The former Man United striker earned plenty of plaudits for implementing an attacking brand of football and leading PSV to a Dutch Cup triumph.<\/p>\n

This season, PSV have ended their six-year wait for a league title, and many credit Nistelrooy for laying the foundation for the side’s success.<\/p>\n

Still, the Dutchman was not able to finish what he started reportedly<\/a> due to issues behind the scenes. He departed abruptly, without managing PSV’s last game of the season.<\/p>\n

The 47-year-old is now interested in returning to the touchline, but as per The Mirror<\/a>, he will only be “tempted by the right opportunity.”<\/p>\n

In order to ensure the same, he has knocked on the doors of United’s former chief executive Peter Kenyon, who exited Old Trafford to oversee Chelsea’s project in 2003.<\/p>\n

Van Nistelrooy revealed: \u201cI know Peter Kenyon from my playing days at United. He is now 70 and an independent consultant. This man has a wealth of experience, a network, a frame of reference.”<\/p>\n

“I have asked if he would review the\u00a0organisation\u00a0of (interested) clubs for me. It is super important to get as complete a picture as possible. I’m\u00a0really\u00a0looking for the right step.”<\/p>\n

Nistelrooy is not the only ex-United striker who has been picky when it comes to accepting a new managerial offer.<\/p>\n

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who parted ways with the Red Devils in 2021, remains without a club despite being heavily linked with\u00a0a number of\u00a0jobs.<\/p>\n

Most recently, The Peoples Person<\/a> relayed a report claiming Solskjaer was on the radar of Canada. The Republic of Ireland national team also approached him in January but he did not feel the opportunity was “right for him.”<\/p>\n
